DIGITAL FORENSICS POSTGRADUATE CERTIFICATE
The Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Forensics offered by Northumbria University has been specifically developed to give academic recognition to those individuals who have significant work-based experience, and professional expertise in computer forensics.
The course provides a flexible work-based approach to learning that is intended to fit in with each individual's work and personal commitments. It is accredited to the Skills for Justice National Occupational Standards, and has been designed to fully develop the knowledge, understanding and skills as specified by the relevant Countering E-Crime National Occupational Standards.
The course is divided into 3 modules, undertaken over a 12-month period:
Principles of Digital Forensics
Digital Forensics Strategy
Work-Based Project
Entry Requirements
Candidates with relevant professional
experience will be assessed individually on merit.

The UK needs more digital forensics specialists to address the growing problem of cybercrime, and as noted by DI Phil Butler (former Head of the Economic Crime Unit, Northumbria Police), believe that in "developing this course, Northumbria University is taking a proactive approach to the growing problem of cybercrime".
The course is offered by the School of Computing, Engineering and Information Sciences at Northumbria University which has significant experience of employer engagement, having developed a number
of work-based postgraduate programmes and
recognising the importance of academic recognition for Continuous Professional Development.
