Tuesday, 19 March, 2013
A CHARITY concert to raise money for the Children's Society, whilst highlighting important issues around child sexual exploitation, will be hosted at Lancashire Constabulary Headquarters next week.
The unique event, which will take place on Tuesday 19 March between 7pm and 8.30pm, has been organised by Lancashire Constabulary's Public Protection Unit.
The popular South Ribble Concert Band will carry out a special performance and there will be two readings from inspirational young people on the evening.
Refreshments will be provided and there will be a raffle with some top prizes, including meal-for two vouchers, a food hamper and a pair of signed boxing gloves from Amir Khan.
Det Supt Ian Critchley added: "The concert is fantastic opportunity for us to showcase some of the work being done by the police and partner agencies whilst raising money for the Children's Society.
"There is some excellent work going on across the county - it's really making a difference and we should be proud of that.
"The fabulous South Ribble Concert Band will be playing on the night and people can expect to hear inspirational stories from young people whilst learning important information about the issue of child sexual exploitation."
Programme Manager from the Children's Society, Joanna Hunt added: "Fundraising initiatives like this one ensure that our most vulnerable children and young people can thrive and continue to achieve positive outcomes."
Tickets are £3 and are available by calling 01772 412618 or 412868. All proceeds will go to the Children's Society. For further information about South Ribble Concert Band please visit
