Sir Hugh Orde, President of the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) and Chris Sims, Chief Constable of West Midlands Police, have joined the board of Care of Police Survivors (COPS).

The charity, which helps families of police officers who have been lost in the line of duty, have also further expanded its board with the addition of two new bereaved family trustees, Tracy
Walker and Denis Gunn. COPS co-founder and President, Christine Fulton, is set to retire in September but will continue her long association with the charity.

Sue Brace, currently COPS Fundraising Co-ordinator, will replace Christine as President and will be supported by Tracey Walker as Vice President, a new position on the board.

On his appointment as a trustee, Mr Sims said: "I was delighted to be asked to be a trustee for the charity which in recent years has proved to be so supportive to the Police Service. I recognize the real value that the charity provides to our survivors and I look forward to working with my fellow trustees in the years to come."
