Crimewatch Roadshow coming Live to Lancashire
Friday, 04 June, 2010
NEXT WEEK, Lancashire will be hosting the first of four weeks of the live 'Crimewatch Roadshow'.
The daytime show, which is to be aired between 9:15am and 10am each weekday morning, will be broadcasting live from a different location around the county each day including Blackburn, Preston and Blackpool.
The programme will feature re-constructions of crimes from across the county, CCTV appeals and people currently wanted by police in Lancashire. The show will also highlight some of the day-to-day work that goes on to prevent crime across the county, including neighbourhood policing 'beat sweeps', and mounted branch and wildlife crime operations.
Lancashire Constabulary's Chief Constable, Steve Finnigan will also be featured on the programme, introducing people to our county.
Mr Finnigan said, "The 'Crimewatch Roadshow' programme was very popular last year and we were keen to take the opportunity to, not only showcase the hard work that goes on in Lancashire every day, but also to appeal for information about some of those crimes that mean the most to communities.
"Despite crime being at its lowest level in the county since 1973, we are not complacent and we remain committed to keeping our communities safe from harm, and through our local policing teams we will ensure that we remain accessible and in touch with community priorities."
