Cleveland cops on the run!

A group of Police Officers from Stockton are tackling the distance between the UK and Afghanistan to raise money for Help for Heroes and the Police Benevolent Fund.

The five officers will run and row the 3,500 miles over a three month period and are hoping to raise a substantial sum of money for the two charities. The challenge started on the 19th February at the Total Fitness Gym in Stockton when the Chief Constable of Cleveland
Police, Sean Price officially launched the event by running the first mile.

Commenting on the challenge the officers have set themselves the Chief Constable of Cleveland Police, Sean Price said: "I am very proud of the task that these officers are undertaking. They are showing incredible determination and commitment to putting people first and raising money for two very worthwhile charities."

Inspector Mick Jackson, Sergeant Deborah Fenny, Sergeant Harry Simpson, PC Ross Price and PC Michael Dalton are all taking part in the fundraising event along with Greg Sharp a friend of Sergeant Harry Simpson's who is an ex-paratrooper.

Sergeant Harry Simpson said: "Getting fit is a goal but we wanted to extend our goal further. We really want to be able to give something back to people who need it and hope that
by undertaking this challenge we can do just that and make a real difference to the lives of others."
