New Neighbourhood Inspector For Pemberton

Inspector Phil James has joined the Pemberton Neighborhood Policing Team
replacing Inspector Peter Clarke.

Inspector James joined Greater Manchester Police in 2005 having previously served 10 years in Cheshire Constabulary.

During his service he has worked in a variety of roles as a constable, sergeant and inspector in Bolton,
Chester, Ellesmere Port, Warrington and Macclesfield. These include managing neighbourhood and divisional response teams and proactive burglary, drug and vehicle crime teams.

In June 2005 Inspector James transferred to Greater Manchester Police and for the last four years he has worked as a neighbourhood sergeant and response inspector in Bolton.

Prior to joining the police he was a Royal Marine officer and he also has an honours degree in Law from Leeds University.

Inspector James said: "Inspector Clarke has done an excellent job in Pemberton for many years and I fully intend to build on all of his good work. I am passionate about Neighbourhood Policing and I am fully committed to providing the best possible service to all of the residents and businesses in the area.

"I am also really looking forward to getting to know the area, and my team
and I will continue to listen to the views and concerns of all residents in
Pemberton and respond positively to any issues they raise. We will also
continue to work with other key agencies like Wigan Council and Greater
Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to actively target offenders and bring them to justice."
