There's never been a better time to rejoin North Yorkshire Police

North Yorkshire Police is trying an innovative way of attracting new recruits by sending out a special new year invitation to former members of staff.
All constables who transferred to other forces in the last four years have been contacted by personal letter and special new year card from the Chief Constable, Grahame Maxwell, to see if they would like to return to the county, one of the safest to live and work in.
Entitled New Year, New Future, the letter spells out the advantages of working for NYP, the fact that it has gone from strength to strength with robust reviews of every department to ensure maximum efficiency is achieved at all times.
With a strong financial standing and officers back on the frontline where their skills are really needed, the force is in a good position to deliver its new policing pledge to the communities it serves.
Now all it needs is more people to work with them and is hoping its personal appeal will do the trick and lead to a flood of applications to rejoin the force.
A recruitment campaign begins this month for police constables (uniform and CID) to transfer in. The force is hoping previous employees will come back bringing with them skills and experience gained in the meantime.
There will be two intakes of recruits and a further two recruitment campaigns will be launched throughout the year.
