More than 2,200 Londoners attended the Housing Options Affordable New Homes Show, held on 12th October at the New Connaught Rooms, Covent Garden, in search of a new and affordable home.

This free event organised by London HomeBuy Agents Metropolitan Home Ownership and Tower Homes, enabled over 30 housing associations offering low cost home ownership properties across the capital to market directly to new customers. The annual show is now a major tool in enabling prospective home owners to view the wide range of homes offered by affordable housing providers operating in all London boroughs.

Steve Moseley, Head of Marketing and Communications at Tower Homes, said: "Owning a home in the capital may seem far out of reach for many Londoners so we are pleased to be able to put on this type of high quality event and bring together a large selection of affordable housing providers.

First time buyers have been able to see for themselves what affordable housing solutions are currently available and find out what we can do to support them in their bid to get on the first rung of the property ladder."

Bernie Conroy, Assistant Director of MHO, said: "The event offers real added value and gives Londoners a one-stop opportunity to shop for a home they can afford. Feedback received from exhibitors and customers alike has been extremely positive. We are pleased we can offer hope to working people who are struggling to get on the property ladder, and encourage anyone unable to attend the event to visit www.housingoptions.co.uk. "

Home buyers attending the show made the most of the opportunity to find out about affordable ways to own a home. One customer said: "For years, I've been renting a studio flat, which we can't afford. I've been scrimping and saving and I've just found out there are all these schemes available. When they told me about this show, where everything is under one roof I thought it would be fantastic. Now I'm here, I've been able to see everyone in one go - and it only took a couple of hours of my time instead of scheduling individual meetings all over the place."
