TRACKER helps South Yorkshire police uncover four stolen vehicles and criminal gang

South Yorkshire 'chopper coppers' hit gold when a TRACKER unit in a stolen Land Rover led them to a clutch of stolen vehicles in the process of being stripped down by thieves. TRACKER, the UK's number one stolen vehicle recovery company, helped police uncover a crime operation in Rotherham, leading to arrests and the recovery of three additional vehicles.

Police on the trail of a stolen Land Rover, tracked the vehicle using the TRACKER signal emitting from the stolen vehicle to the Wales area of Rotherham using the South Yorkshire police helicopter. Officers on the ground then tracked the vehicle to the driveway of a private house under renovation in the Kiverton Park area. After a few enquiries, the owner of the house was arrested.

Following a further search, another Land Rover 110 without a TRACKER unit, was found on the driveway. This vehicle had been stolen from Nottingham earlier in the month. Inside the property was a partially stripped Suzuki 650 motorcycle, which had also been stolen from Nottingham. Finally, in the rear garden, police found another Land Rover, which had been stolen from Derby.

PC Wood of the South Yorkshire police says, "If it hadn't been for the TRACKER device fitted to the Land Rover we may well have not found that vehicle or the other stolen vehicles. One man has been arrested and our enquiries are on going."
