Chief Inspector Steve Tysoe, in charge of patrols at Islington has stepped up to the challenge of becoming a Premier League Referee during the 2012 / 2013 season, for the English Ice Hockey
Association.

Steve, who founded the Met Police Ice Hockey Club, qualified as an ice hockey referee in 2007, officiating at junior
level matches and progressing up to refereeing in the English National League in the 2011 / 2012 season.

For this season coming, Steve has been nominated to officiate in the English
Premier League. He said: "Being asked to officiate at premiership level in ice hockey is an honour. The added bonus was that my first EPL match raised over £2000 for Help for Heroes and another local charity SPICE.

"Ice hockey is a fast-paced sport and refereeing ensures that I get the best seat in the house to watch it from!"
