Two new Custody Centres for South Wales Police

Tuesday, 08 May, 2012

Pick Everard has been appointed by South Wales Police to provide project management and quantity surveying services for two new Custody Centres.

The multidisciplinary practice was appointed through a national Scape framework to assist South Wales Police in their strategy to rationalise custody suite facilities in the region. The works will involve construction of two brand new custody centres with office accommodation, at sites in Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil.

The Bridgend Custody Centre project is proposed to start on site in September 2012 with project completion in early 2014. The programme and timetable for the Merthyr Tydfil Custody Centre is to be agreed after further discussion.

Stuart Brisbane, South Wales regional lead for Pick Everard comments, "We're extremely pleased to have secured work with such a prestigious Welsh client, which builds on our extensive police force experience. It's also great to see the Scape framework being used in Wales so quickly after our appointment.

Pick Everard is the sole provider for project management and quantity surveying services under a four year national Scape framework which enables public sector organisations to buy and access a quality service provider quickly, efficiently and competitively, in line with the government's aim to improve construction through benchmarking, data sharing, better use of frameworks, supply chain integration, standardisation and implementation of Building Information Modelling (BIM).

This latest development for South Wales Police is one of a number of schemes that Pick Everard is working on in the blue light sector including projects for Thames Valley Police, Northamptonshire Police, The Metropolitan Police, Leicestershire and Kent and Medway Fire Services. Pick Everard is providing professional services on a range of police, health and education projects from its South Wales base.
