Police Mutual is proud to support the Police Bravery Awards 2011

On Thursday 7 July 2011, the 16th annual Police Bravery Awards was held at The Savoy Hotel in London.
For the third consecutive year, Police Mutual (PMAS) is proud to partner with the Police Federation of England and Wales and support an award ceremony that salutes Police Officers who have gone beyond the call of duty.
Prime Minister David Cameron welcomed the 59 nominees to a reception at 10 Downing Street, before the awards ceremony in the evening. The final eight regional prize-winners and one overall winner were chosen by a judging panel which includes the founder of the awards and former Federation Chairman, Fred Broughton; co-founding member of the committee and fallen officer widow, Angela Hammond; and anti-violence campaigner Baroness Helen Newlove of Warrington.

Every day members of the police service risk their own safety to protect that of others, and I am pleased that Police Mutual can play a part in recognising some tremendous examples of this.
