TWO Lancashire Constabulary officers are preparing for a gruelling 100k walk to raise money for a Lancashire children's hospice.

Sgt Dave Herbert and PCSO Stuart Garnett will complete the 20 hour hike overnight between Thursday 5 and Friday 6 May, stopping off at ten police stations between Chorley, Preston and Blackburn on their way.

Sgt Herbert, who works at police Headquarters in Hutton, is hoping to raise money for Derian House Children's Hospice in Chorley, which offers care to terminally and seriously ill children. PCSO Garnett, who is based at Preston, will raise money for Help for Heroes

Sgt Herbert said: "I know the walk will be both mentally and physically demanding but I am looking forward to the challenge hope to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause."
