Payback Works

Wednesday, 12 August, 2009

An interactive new facility has been launched on the Dorset Police website, informing local people about Community Payback projects undertaken across the county.

The new 'Payback Works' facility on the
Dorset Police website enables the public to view details of the variety of work undertaken by supervised offenders in Dorset. The launch, last month coincided with the completion of Dorset scouts' "Arrowhead Mine", a brand new tunnelling complex at Buddens Camping and Activity Centre near Wareham. This is the biggest project ever completed by supervised offenders in Dorset, with over 4,000 work-hours completed and more than 100 individual offenders involved.

In addition to the information, photos and
video packages showing recently completed
projects; the web page also features an online map pinpointing the locations so the public can see the results of Community Payback in their neighbourhood.

The 'Payback Works' facility even provides the opportunity for the public to suggest suitable work sites for offenders to carry out future Community Payback work at.
